After Korea’s worldwide popular Squid Game - What’s the next game?
Worldwide Open Audition Call for the movie SIESTA
Just recently I saw a meme stating, ‘I belong to the 25 people on earth, that hasn’t seen Squid Game yet’, which very well describes the recent enormous success of the Korean Netflix series.
Squid Game has topped the charts in most countries in the world, and its popularity doesn’t stop there. The hype spreads its arms like a squid and ventures into the world, where now traditional Korean games and snacks like Dalgona gain attention.
Amid the great popularity of the Korean Netflix series the question arises:
What comes next? How about a Korean movie with a worldwide audition call?
Asia Lab, a global networking platform based in Seoul announced an open audition for the movie SIESTA. Aside the female protagonist, who will be rewarded with 100.000 Dollars, various actors from all around the world are asked to join the audition.
The movie is written and directed by Korean director Lee Jung-Sub, who is the CEO of the Film Production Newplus Original and Asia Lab. After this year’s successful audition for the movie ASIA, which deals with the #stopasianhate movement and is recently in production, the audition for SIESTA gains a lot of attention. Why? Because it is (unlike many Korean movie production) not exclusively working with known celebrity actors but searches for newcomer artists with passion and talent.
To join the audition, global artists upload their profile on the Pick Me Up section of the Asia Lab homepage. However, the interaction should not end there. The philosophy of Asia Lab is to LEARN, MAKE and CONNECT. And since not only actors, but also directors and artists from various areas are active on the platform, the ultimate goal is to get connected and exchange for future projects as well.
Let’s get connected.
Let’s Asia Lab!
