How am I feeling today?

How am I doing today?

It is a question we usually ask others, but rarely ask ourselves.

And it is an important question, how am I feeling today?

People are not the same every day, and especially actors who work with emotions, it is important to know how our heart is. There are days that we are more vulnerable than others and our emotional availability is not always the same, but an actor cannot only work the day he/she is vulnerable.

It is important to be aware of how we are and to train on different days to know how we handle the instrument. That way, when we arrive at a shoot, we will know how available we are and what resources we need to use.

Actors are the craftsmen of the soul and many times we overlook this. We work daily with our emotions and our body, but what happens when that instrument is wounded?

We have to listen to ourselves and know how far we can go so we know when something it is not okey. Because it is okey not to be okey. Therefore, acting is a profession where we expose ourselves a lot and we are constantly forcing our emotions or covering them up and this can really be a double-edged sword.

That's why we have to ask ourselves every day how we are, if we have some kind of tension in the body, and above all , take care of the soul, because, at the end of the day, we all are humans. Let's listen and respect more ourselves.
