Your next destination... Camosack/Victoria, BC!
I traveled to Vancouver Island for the second time and had so much fun enjoying the beautiful weather. BC is very warm, so if you enjoy hot sun and being near water, this is the place for you. Downtown Victoria is packed with restraunts, attractions, hotels, and boats. Lots of boats. Chinatown is bustling during the day and features many Chinese, German, and Indian restraunts. There are lots of bus stop locations, and I recommend using public transportation to save money.
Butchart Gardens is about 30 to 40 mintues away from the city, and is a stunning 55-acre display garden created by Jennie Butchart. It is 119 years old and is a breathtaking sight. This is great for the entire family, couples, older people, or even just yourself. There are lots of benches and spaces to take pictures, and you can eat at the cafe.
The Malahat Skywalk is another huge attraction outside of the city. It is a structure in a forested area that you can reach by walking on a wooden platform to the Spiral Tower. I rode down a 20m spiral slide that boasted a long line of eager visitors, and it was an absolute rush. They have an adventure net at the top where you can enjoy the lushious trees, ocean, and mountains. It is also accessible for those who use wheelchairs or other wheeled devices, and for children in buggies.
Government Street is a huge street full of shops and places to eat. You can visit the Government House and take a tour and explore BC politics. I went on a boat tour on the gorge and I learned so much about BC history. Did you know that the University of Victoria isn't actually in Victoria? It's in the municipalities of Saanich and Oak Bay. Another great place to visit is Fisherman's Wharf. You can grab a bite to eat or take a water taxi from there. I ate fish and chips at Barb's Fish & Chips, but it was very bland. The service was great but the food is a 2/10. I recommend eating at the Cactus Club and Brown's Socialhouse in Downtown Victoria. 10/10 place to visit!
