The Calgary Stampede

The Greatest Show on Earth

**See attached commercial

Over 100 years of the Calgary Stampede was celebrated July 7-16th. It is a ten day long celebration where everyone dresses in their best country wear and visits many events, such as chuckwagon races, Drag brunches, Stampede Powwow, amusement rides, and concerts featuring acts like Pitbull, Koffee, X Ambassadors, Jessie Reyez and Shaquille O'Neal. My favorite thing about the stampede is the mini donuts, which are so soft and sweet.

All around the city you will see people wearing cowboy hats and boots all day and night. The stampede also employs hundreds of people and volunteers that keep the events afloat. There has been some harsh weather and wildfire smoke that has affected Calgary, but that did not stop anyone from having fun at the stampede. It kicked off with the massive Stampede parade where Jeremy Hansen was the parade marshal, and Calgary got to see so many beautiful, and cultural floats and hear great music.

The Calgary stampede also broke a record for most pancakes served in eight hours (17,000 ๐Ÿฎ)

The stampede is awesome for tourists, and a great way to meet up with friends for the summer or go out with your family and have loads of fun for anyone, any age. Taking the train is the best way to get to the stampede grounds located in the downtown area of the city. The transit is pretty smooth for the most part, but very full.

It's a big party in Calgary, and I am so happy that I got to feature in the 2023 Calgary Stampede commercial, and see myself on billboards and bus stations. A few months ago, I sent in a self tape unsure if it was what they were looking for, but it turns out I was wrong. I came in one day for fitting, then a few days later, it was shooting day! I had loads of fun and shot lots of takes and photos. The commercial was shot in Glambot style (a camera that moves from above in a circle around your body). It was a lot of spinning and trying not to slip on confetti in shiny high heeled boots, while trying to interact with the camera and pose.

Happy Stampeding!
